Who am I?

I’m a girl who loves wearing her sweatpants, reading books, and drinking tea.  (And really, what’s better than wearing sweatpants, reading a book, and drinking tea?)  I also love God, and I strive to live my life in a manner that reflects that.

We’re recent transplants from sunny California to the frigid Pacific Northwest (where I am beginning to fully understand the importance of sweatpants and layers, all the while hoping to invent a version of RainX that works for glasses).  I’m learning to temper my opinions and check my attitude daily as we’re currently living with my in-laws and grandparent-in-laws.  I love them all dearly, but God is definitely growing me in my patience and dependence as I become less vocal about my progressive views of faith and loving God.

Really what it all comes down to is that I love to read and write.  This blog provides a forum for my writing, most often about what I’ve read, but also my super deep thoughts.

  1. HI Mrs. Lex. This is your students from Pleasanton Middle School. How are you? How is Washington? We really do not like our new Language Arts teacher, and we took it for granted how good of a teacher you were. We tried sending you multiple emails, and so the reason we knew this was your blog is because it talked mainly about books, and because this blog was made on wordpress. And back at PMS you had us do a blogging assignment and we used wordpress. Please reply!

    • Hi guys! What a treat to get an email that you had found my blog! So fun. WA is wonderful. I truly feel like we were made to live here. It’s beautiful and green all the time. I love it.

I have spent a lot of time this last month trying to decide if I wanted to keep teaching or pursue editing. Your kind words came at just the right time. Thank you.

You guys were wonderful students to get to teach…I had such fun getting to know you five and bugging you to read and write. 🙂 I hope that you’re being good to your new teacher and learning a lot.

You’re nearly freshmen! I can’t believe it. Very exciting.

I would love to hear how you all are doing. I have a teacher facebook page for former students at http://www.facebook.com/mrsjessicalex if you’d like to stay in touch.

      Take care,
      Mrs. Lex 🙂

Your, like, super deep thoughts?
